Fitness for Duty Evaluation
A fitness-for-duty evaluation is the service that determines, through, qualitative and quantitative means of assessment and evaluation, if a current employee is or is not capable to perform essential job functions in the current job position.
Psychological FFDE is the formal, specialized testing and evaluation process of an employee where there is
(1) objective evidence that he/she may be unable to safely or effectively perform essential job functions in the current job position.
(2) a reasonable basis for believing that the cause of his/her impaired job performance may be attributable to a psychological or psychiatric condition.
